# Social Draft

## Input Contract

Minimum viable draft input is not "write about X." It is: topic, claim, proof, why it matters, goal, tone, constraints. If proof is missing, do not invent it. Use qualitative specificity or clearly marked placeholders.

## Kevin's Voice

- Read his real posts before drafting. Logged out, x.com/kevskgs shows about five posts, and a status page shows a post's full text. [Source: scratch-09-10/kevin-feedback-social-posts-voice.md, 2026-10-09]
- Say what he wants to say, taken from his own messages about the project. A fact sheet is the wrong source. [Source: scratch-09-10/kevin-feedback-social-posts-voice.md, 2026-10-09]
- His launch and build posts are earnest first person: a long list of the concrete things he built, what he learned, that he had fun, a joke, and the link. The references are his Princeton Tower Defense launch (2026-10-08), his GT redesign thread (2026-08-14) and his Hark quote post (2026-10-06), his most viewed. [Source: scratch-09-10/kevin-feedback-social-posts-voice.md, 2026-10-09]
- Site-copy rules stay out of posts. Leave out sample sizes, a date on each number and clever one-liner hooks, and keep every fact true. [Source: scratch-09-10/kevin-feedback-social-posts-voice.md, 2026-10-09]
- A spaced hyphen " - " is his own punctuation. Em dashes stay out. [Source: scratch-09-10/kevin-feedback-social-posts-voice.md, 2026-10-09]

## Drafting Workflow

1. Distill the idea into one claim
2. Find the strongest proof block
3. Decide: teach, reveal, provoke, or reflect
4. Pick format (X single post, X thread, LinkedIn story, LinkedIn list)
5. Write the opening first
6. Remove every sentence that sounds generic when detached from the proof

## X Rules

**Good X posts**: stop the scroll in line one, compress one idea hard, sound current and alive, create curiosity without bait.

**Preferred openings**: specific result (`I shipped X in Y`), contrarian take (`Most people get X wrong`), build tension (`The weirdest part of building X was not Y`), field note (`Watching X happen live changed my view on Y`).

**Promotion template**: "Most [category] [problem] because [cause]. [product] [what it does instead]." Write a batch of variations per project with one product fact each, and trace every claim to the project's docs or posts. Lowercase product names stay lowercase. Use no hashtags, and put links, specs and install commands in a reply. This is the one place the "Most X" contrast is used. [Source: gt-cloud/x-post-format.md, 2026-10-23]

**Format**: a template post or sharp take stays under 140 characters. A launch or build post runs long, as Kevin's own posts do. Thread only when genuinely needed. Links in reply, not main post. One emoji max. Close with a clean question, challenge, or takeaway.

**Avoid**: "Thoughts?", "Agree?", "Like and repost."

## LinkedIn Rules

**Good LinkedIn posts**: win the first two lines, feel conversational but professional, tell one coherent story, translate detail into a lesson.

**Structures**: Story (hook -> event -> change -> lesson -> close), Contrarian (claim -> why common wisdom fails -> evidence -> better framing), List (hook -> numbered points -> synthesis), Lesson learned (`I used to think X. Now I think Y.`).

**Format**: paragraphs 1-2 sentences, under 1300 characters unless depth helps, line breaks aggressively, 3-5 hashtags max at bottom only.

## Tone Modes

**Casual**: tighter sentences, lighter language, more immediacy. Avoid slang that hurts credibility.

**Professional**: clean sentences, explicit lessons. Avoid consulting voice and over-hedging.

**Thought-leader**: sharper framing, stronger claims, broader implication. Avoid prophecy without proof.

## Anti-Patterns (Cut on Sight)

"thrilled to announce", "humbled", "super excited", "game changer", "leveraging", "ecosystem", "unlock", "the future is here", "building in stealth", generic gratitude paragraphs with no payload. If the post could have been written by a random founder-content account, it is not ready.

### AI writing tells (hard cut)

These two patterns alone make a post read as AI-written. Cut both on sight when drafting in Kevin's voice. See `wiki/style/people-page-voice-style.md` "Anti-AI-Tells" for the canonical rule.

- **No em dashes (`—`, `–`, `--`).** Use periods, commas, colons, or parentheses. The em dash invites the AI rhythm "X, and here's why, Y." Real writing breaks that into two sentences. Only exception: Kevin used one in source material; preserve his em dashes, never introduce new ones.
- **No negative parallelism.** Cut: "It's not X, it's Y." / "Not just X, but Y." / "Don't think of it as X. Think of it as Y." / "It's less about X, more about Y." / "X isn't the goal. Y is." Make the positive claim. If the contrast is genuinely doing work, prove it with a concrete example instead of a rhetorical flip.

## Quality Checklist

**X**: first line creates tension/curiosity/specificity, claim clear within one read, proof element present, not bloated, no external link in main post, close invites replies without sounding needy.

**LinkedIn**: first two lines earn the click, paragraphs short, at least one concrete detail, lesson explicit, buzzwords removed, hashtags minimal and at bottom.

## Default Deliverable

1. X draft
2. LinkedIn draft
3. Optional alternate hook if the angle is important
