places/, patterns/, tensions/, eras/, and transitions/ are schema-supported but should be created only when real clusters justify them.

Resolver Status

This is a resolver companion page for supported categories that may not exist in the current checkout. Filing Decision Tree may route to them, but Wiki Brain Operating Model decides whether the first page is strong enough to create a directory.

Create The Category When

• The topic has durable retrieval value beyond one weak note.
• A section, story, decision, person page, or ledger row would hide useful structure.
• The category is likely to receive future pages.

Prefer Existing Categories When

• A place is only background for a story or project.
• A pattern is just a reusable concept.
• A tension is a one-time problem.
• An era/transition is only evidence for a career or story page.

Closeout

When creating a dormant category, add a README, update Filing Decision Tree, rebuild index/qmd, and log why the category now exists.
