Theta Software
YC S25 AI infrastructure company building simulation environments, benchmarks, and training loops for specialized agents.
Theta's public site positions the company around translating real-world workspaces into simulation environments so agents can learn domain-specific work. The public examples include finance, healthcare, software engineering, legal, IT, inventory, and back-office workflows. Source: Theta website, 2026-06-18
What it builds
Theta's product surface has three connected parts:
| Layer | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Custom environments | Synthetic/digital workspaces built from first-party and human-expert data |
| Specialized agent workforce | Agents trained to use the right tools, context, and multi-turn workflows for a domain |
| Forward-deployed solutions | Hands-on customer work to define workflows, success criteria, and measurable outcomes |

YC lists Theta as Spring 2025, active, San Francisco, in AI / Reinforcement Learning / B2B, with founders Rayan Garg, Tanmay Sharma, and Gurvir Singh, and team size 7. YC's launch copy described an earlier intelligent-memory layer for self-learning agents that analyzes prior runs and feeds learned insights into future runs. Source: YC company profile, 2026-06-18
CUB benchmark
Theta also published CUB, a computer/browser-use benchmark with 106 end-to-end workflows across consumer, construction, finance, healthcare, marketing, sales, and supply chain. The benchmark uses real-world workflow tasks and synthetic enterprise-style platforms, and it evaluates long-sequence memory, multi-app coordination, repetitive action coherence, and unfamiliar domain-specific interfaces. This makes Theta directly relevant to Kevin's agent-infra graph: it touches evals, simulated workspaces, post-training data, computer-use reliability, and the same "agent operating environment" question behind Agent Machines and The Eval Loop (Slop Is an Output Problem).
Status with Kevin
Recruiting inbound via People Network Ledger (v3.co): May 2026 email cited ~$4.3M raised, ~$4M ARR, ~5 engineers. Kevin reached out to Gurvir at Theta 2026-06-13 (Kyle intro) proposing Wed/Thurs Jun 16–17 — partnership/exploratory, not Agent Machines fundraising. Source: Gmail sync, 2026-06-13
The public YC profile currently lists team size 7, which differs from the earlier recruiting email's "about 5 engineers" framing. Treat the email as recruiting context and the YC profile as public company snapshot. Source: Kyle Holin email, 2026-05-20; YC company profile, 2026-06-18
